We Need Your Support

GET INVOLVED - DONATE
If you are concerned about the welfare of young people please consider donating to support our work.
The Feathers Association depends on investment returns, fund-raising events and rental income. The main fundraising event is the Feathers Charity Ball, which is held each December.  All the activities are dependent on funding. Nothing can be accomplished without the money to open the Centre, which costs £280,000 a year to operate. All contributions, however small, help our work to continue.

Working with young people is highly absorbing and also highly rewarding.
If you are over 16, you can gain valuable experience in running a youth project or programme. Staff development is a crucial factor in the success of the Centre. The full-time Senior Youth Worker, Assistant Senior Youth Worker and Programme Leader-in-Charge are all professional youth workers. We aim to utilise the strengths of the existing staff and give volunteers training in order to be able to offer the wide range of activities that Fourth Feathers provides.
BECOME A YOUTH WORKER
All the staff employed at the Centre are CRB checked and are encouraged and supported to undertake youth work training. The full-time Senior Youth Worker, Assistant Senior Youth Worker and Programme Leader-in-Charge are all professional youth workers.
If you are interested in becoming a Youth Worker please contact Andrew Mederick.

"For the last four years I have been employed as a paid youth worker with Fourth Feathers. I started as a volunteer and became a youth worker because I enjoy the atmosphere and being around young people. I am a good  listener and that helps me to bond and communicate with young people."
 Fullah Halwani

"As a young person, I remember how important the local youth centre was to me. It gave me the space, the safety, and the time to be me and to grow and have fun. Although I have worked in other careers such as a copywriter in advertising, I have always returned to youth work because it’s so rewarding."
