WHY HELP FOURTH FEATHERS?
All club activities are dependent on funding. Our partners' and supporters' funds enable us to open the Centre (paying for heating, lighting, water, maintenance, repairs, and insurance), staffing, and to run the activities (refreshments, materials, and equipment). The Centre costs over £280,000 a year to operate, therefore we aim to attract a range of funders to sustain our important work.

We are pleased to have the support of local businesses. BNP Paribas, a Marylebone-based company that has a longstanding association with The Fourth Feathers Club, and The Landmark Hotel situated, opposite Marylebone Station, are just two of our important local partners. We encourage local enterprises and organisations to learn more about our work by getting in touch with us.

City councils will inevitably be making cutbacks on all funding to voluntary organisations and therefore we will increasingly be working with other groups to generate new streams of income. If you would like to discuss how to help us take our valuable work forward please get in touch with Andrew Mederick.
UPGRADED WEBSITE
IT Graduates from John Lewis & Partners took on the task of creating a new website for us that was fresh and reflected what Fourth Feathers was all about. They made numerous visits to find out more about the centre and what it represented. Over the course of 3 months the site was developed into what you see today. This new website platform, a new Instagram page, linked Facebook account and training from the Partners, will help us ensure that everyone can see the latest updates from Fourth Feathers.

THE JOHN LYON'S MUSIC ROOM

John Lyon’s has been a regular contributor to The Feathers for the past twenty years.
Young club members today learn to make music in the John Lyon’s Music Room. We have worked on developing strong associations with local music groups and are open to sharing our outstanding facilities with new and up-and-coming musicians.
NEW ASTROTURF FOOTBALL PITCH
We recently built a brand new astroturf football pitch. This has brought a huge benefit to the youth club, meaning that ball games can be played year-round, giving the children the chance to run and exercise in a safe space. We are also able to hire this space out to local schools to help raise extra funds for the youth centre.

THE JUNIOR CLUB
The Junior Club is one such project, for example, that came about through local funding but which needs to be self-sustained to continue. By formally recognising that local children and young people require a designated space to do their homework, the project has been running since 2008, supported by Barings, The Portman Foundation and Westminster City Council Neighbourhood Ward.

The Afterschool Programme offers opportunities for young people aged 8 years and upwards through school work support, social integration, behaviour improvement, encouraging independent learning and healthy lifestyles through sport. We also provide assistance to families who have difficulty in participating in mainstream society by providing information, advice and guidance. The Afterschool Programme benefits the local community by offering opportunities to young people who do not have the facilities to complete their homework either within their homes or through school provision. Club members also participate in a range of physical, cerebral and social activities to raise their attainment, confidence and self-esteem.
